Original copy of Instruction of the Ministry of the Interior regarding the deportation of Armenian nobles, 1915The deportation of Armenian notables, also known as the Red Sunday refers to the night when leaders of the Armenian community of the Ottoman capital, Constantinople, and later other centers were arrested and moved to two holding centers near Ankara by the Minister of the Interior Mehmed Talaat Bey with his order of April 24, 1915. They were later deported, with the adoption of the Tehcir Law, on 29 May 1915. In the broader context of the Armenian Genocide, 24 April, Genocide Remembrance Day, commemorates the Armenian notables deported from the Ottoman capital in 1915, which was a precursor to the ensuing events.

Free Speech Movement at UC Berkeley. 1964.
Thousands of students joined the Berkeley Free Speech Movement, gathering the administration building at the University of California campus, to protest four students being disciplined for distributing political literature. The next day, police arrested 773 who began a sit-in at Sproul Hall. 10,000 more students then went on strike and shut down the school. The Free Speech Movement had began in October, when three thousand students surrounded a police car for 36 hours.

Reasons for America’s Boom: World War One.
America is renowned for making money from war, and personally I feel this stems from its participation with World War One. America joined WW1 late, it was only the threat of a German – Mexican pact (the Zimmermann Telegram) as well as Woodrow Wilson’s belief in Democracy that got them involved at all. Due to this, although of course losing men, America made big money. It had made money from selling ammunitions to Britain and Europe, and had no damages to repair as all battles took place off American soil. This meant that while the rest of the world was licking its wounds; Uncle Sam could sweep in and take over many of their colonial markets – by the end of the war America had become the ‘world banker’ with most countries owing them money.

Reasons for America’s Boom: Credit.
Credit was an incredibly influential factor towards America’s boom, credit was readily available in the 1920s and opened up consumerism to the general public. American population at large could now buy goods with just a small deposit and pay the rest off in weekly, or monthly, instalments. A society based on “buy now, pay later” boosted sales of many consumer goods, Ford automobile industry relied on 75% of their sales to be bought on credit and paid off in weekly instalments, a culture which encouraged thoughtless spending and not safe saving or charity.

I know that this is not a “recent issue” but we as Americans are almost forced to forget the important issues. We are at a serious crossroad and if we as a citizens do not stand up and become united the world as we know it will end! People should not live in fear of our government. WE THE PEOPLE are more powerful than anything that could overtake us. Forget about your petty bullshit issues for just a second and think about your rights and freedoms, they will soon be non existent. ARE YOU READY FOR ANOTHER HOLOCAUST??? RAISE UP SPEAK OUT!THIS IS NOT HISTORY THIS IS NOW!
